OT - 8 & 80

Hello, for those of you on an 8 & 80 rule for your overtime, do you start your 24-hour period at the same time (ex: midnight) for all staff, or do you have various 24-hour periods for your staff (ex: following their normal shift start time – perhaps 2nd shift or 3rd shift)?  We currently have two different periods (midnight to midnight, then start of third shift to end of second shift the next day), but it seems to be popping up quite a bit with staff and their displeasure of it.  I am wondering what the industry standard is.   Thanks in advance!

Bereavement Policy

Hello.  We are considering the implementation of a bereavement policy/program.  Currently, any time off is taken out of the PTO bank. 

Do you define the number of days off a person gets by the relationship (ex: grandfather, aunt, etc), or do you give a straight numbef of days off?

Dress Code Policy

Hello everyone,

As the days are finally getting warmer we are finding that many of our female employees are wearing capris and skirts to work.  We recently (a couple of years ago) revised our dress code policy and although we allow both skirts and capris/crop pants, they must be worn with nylons.  We are finding quite a resistance to having to wear nylons.  Would anyone be willing to share what their policy is on having to wear nylons with crop pants or skirts?

By the way a committee of 10 hourly employees, from all different departments created this policy.
